Why You Need a Real Estate Agent
If you’re looking to buy a house, Zillow is great for browsing and seeing what is out there. But make sure to contact an actual real estate agent before looking at a house in person. While you may be a savvy buyer, seeing a ‘listed’ house without an agent that represents YOU can actually cause a number of problems and take away much of your leverage as a buyer.
Nick does not charge a fee to home buyers; he is compensated from the seller’s proceeds once a transaction is complete. If you purchase a house without a licensed Realtor like Nick representing you, the listing agent will simply keep the cut that otherwise would have gone to your real estate agent.
This means that you did not save a penny by going directly to them–in fact, you likely paid more than you needed to. No matter how much research you’ve done, an agent like Nick has access to various reports and databases that are broader and more recent than what you’ll find on Trulia, Zillow, or even county property record websites.
